Promoting Active Citizenship is an ongoing project for Civitas. Our focus during the early part of 2008 is on brainstorming the essence of Active Citizenship and designing new ways for students to get involved. We have a two-day conference on Active Citizenship over the weekend of Fri., Feb. 15 - Sat., Feb. 16. Prior to the conference will be several workshops designed to prepare students for the recommendations to be made at the conference.

We have two prep sessions prior to the conference, both at Crossroads School (map). The second workshop on Sat., Feb. 9 will be an opportunity for students to meet with adults who have followed through their idealistic visions into adulthood. This participants will be:
