Survey on the Mosque in New York and the Rally in Washington
Sometimes our views on civil liberties guaranteed in the First Amendment clash with what we think is appropriate. That happened for some people this past week with the issues in New York and Washington. We ask you to take this short survey to share your thoughts with us. Click here to access the survey.

Special Field Trip to Arch to View Competition for new Riverfront Designs
St. Louis is moving ahead with plans to connect downtown St. Louis with the Arch grounds, with the riverfront, and to East St. Louis. Five architectural firms submitted their plans last week and their designs are on display at the Arch.
ActiveCitizen360 will morph Discussion Group #2 on Saturday, September 18 into a field trip to the arch to see the designs. Please note that this activity will end at noon rather than the previously announced 11:00 AM. Students should meet at Crossroads (map) at 9:00 AM.
One of the key issues related to the designs is whether to replace the "depressed lanes" of I-70 between the Arch grounds and downtown and replace them with a wide boulevard with numerous locales to easily cross from downtown to the Arch grounds. You can read more about that at the City-to-River web site and an interesting article on it by Gloria Bilchik in the Occasional Planet. Feel free to add your comments.

1st High School Discussion this Saturday
The first of what will be many discussion sessions for high school students in ActiveCitizen360 programs is this Saturday, September 4. We will meet from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Crossroads College Preparatory School (map).
The ActiveCitizen360 will offer a few topics for discussion but these are just "starters." We look forward to students suggesting their own topics. The areas of discussion can be international, domestic, local, school-related, essentially anything that is of interest to students. Our discussion groups are wonderful times to combine serious discussions with timely humor; we hope that you will be there.
