Establishing in
the PREAMBLE the principles that apply in the resolution:
Whereas Article 3 of the UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS states, “Everyone has the right to life, liberty, and security of person.”, and
Whereas Article 25, section
1 of the
UNIVERSAL
DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS
states, “Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the
health and well-being of himself and his family, including food, clothing,
housing, and medical care, and necessary social services, and the right to
security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age,
or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.”,
and
Appalled of water pollution from raw sewage and runoff of agricultural pesticides in India, and
Deeply concerned of waterborne diseases such as hepatitis A&E, typhoid fever, and bacterial diarrhea, and
Realizing that water is not potable in widespread areas throughout the country of India,

Request that member
nations with a GNP per capita more than $15,000 add a 6% increase to their U.N.
member dues.
2.
This money is to be
forwarded to the construction and purchase of purification plant and water
potability equipment.
3. The construction will be distributed to eight areas with major population throughout India.
4. The name of this program will be Water for the New Age (W.N.A.).
5.
If W.N.A. is successful
in India, it will last for ten years and will be analyzed every two years.
6. After ten years, if the program is a success, it will remain permanent, but still be analyzed every two years.
7.
W.N.A will expand to
other countries that are in need of clean water and will be also analyzed in two
years just as India will be.

the PREAMBLE the principles that apply in the resolution:
Whereas Article 2 section 1 of the UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS states, “Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without any distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.”, and
Whereas Article 18 of the UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS states, “Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience, and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion of belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.”, and
Appalled that the conflict in Darfur has killed more than 50,000 and displaced more than a million, and
Realizing that the Center for Disease Control (CDC) in Atlanta found a 38% malnutrition rate among children under 5 in the refugee camps, and
Fully aware that black Darfurians demanded greater political and economic rights but the Sudanese government responded with boats, helicopters, and planes filled with bombs, and
Alarmed by the fact that that the Janjaweed (Arab militias) who are terrorizing the Darfurians are being supported by the Sudanese government, and
Be It Hereby Resolved That The General
Assembly:
1. Request that nations with the top five GNPs donate 100% of initial startup costs, and then all nations with the top 25 GNPs provide 100% of the salary of UN Peacekeeping soldiers.
2. The money will go towards posting human rights watch centers. There will be 1 watch center per 100 [BC1] persons in Darfur.
3. The program will last for five years and if violations of human rights continue then the program may be extended.
4. The name of the program will be United Nations Human Rights Initiative (U.N.H.R.I.).
5. The program will be authorized for five years and at the end of the third year, if the program has been successful, as indicated by a decrease in violence against Darfurians perpetrated by the Janjaweed, its renewal will be discussed by the General Assembly.

Whereas Article 3 of the UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS states, “Everyone has the right to life, liberty, and security of person.”, and
Whereas Article 5 of the UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS states, “No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.”, and
Realizing that street children in Latvia are a mobile group, and hard to number, and
Appalled that the Latvian government does not help with unemployment, and
Concerned that lack of care for street children will result in a country in extreme poverty, and
Worried that Latvia will turn in to a country ridden with poverty,
Be It Hereby Resolved That The General
Assembly:
1. Request that member nations with a GNP per capita more than $15,000 add a 4[BC1] % increase to their U.N. member dues.
2. Supply a safe house for street children in Latvia, which would include one main house with several outlying houses for eating and bathing. There [BC2] would be 2 houses, each one constructed by Peace Keepers. The goal of this is to get these children of the streets. Children [BC3] will be permitted to stay until age 18. These [BC4] safe houses will supply education and job training.
3. The name of this program will be the United Nations Street Children Initiative (U.N.S.C.I)
4. This program will be authorized for seven years. At the end of the 5th year, the General Assembly will discuss the renewal of the program to this and other countries.
5. If at the end of ten[BC5] years, the program is successful, then the General Assembly will discuss initiating the program in other countries.
[BC1]Was decreased from 5%.
[BC2]The number of houses increased and they elaborated on who would build them.
[BC3]The definition of a child was created.
[BC4]Adding schooling and job training was a friendly amendment.
[BC5]Was lowered from 15 years.

the PREAMBLE the principles that apply in the resolution:
Whereas Article 3 of the UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS states, “Everyone has the right to life, liberty, and security of person.”, and
Whereas Article 4 of the UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS states, “No one shall be held in slavery or servitude; slavery and the slave trade shall be prohibited in all their forms.”, and
Realizing that there is forced labor, and
Appalled that the government supports the trafficking, and
Concerned that men, women, and children don’t have the power to stop the issue,
Be It Hereby Resolved That The General Assembly:
1. Get the U.N. to oversee an army to go to the major traffic areas to try to and stop the trafficking.
2. Funding will be raised by raising taxes on the five richest countries to be able to get more searchers on borders. They will be able to search planes, trucks, boats, etc.
3. All countries found to be supporting trafficking will have their dues raised 15[BC1] %.
4. This program will last 6 years. On the 2nd [BC2] year the program will be evaluated and have a decision to keep the program running or not.
5. Its name will be Trafficking In Persons Restricted Program (T.I.P.R.P.).

Whereas Article 2 section 1 of the UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS states, “Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without any distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.”, and
Whereas Article 26, section
1 of the
UNIVERSAL
DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS
states, “Everyone has the right to education. Education shall be free, at
least in the elementary and fundamental stages. Elementary education shall be
compulsory. Technical and professional education shall be made generally
available and higher education shall be equally accessible to all on the basis
of merit.”, and
Realizing that women in Nepal have a literacy rate of 34.9%, and
Appalled that the male literacy
rate, 62.7% is 27.8% higher than the female literacy rate, and
Noticing that the lack of women’s education shall inhibit their success in the country of Nepal,
Be It Hereby Resolved That The General
Assembly:
1. Request that member nations with a GNP per capita more than[BC1] $12,000 add a 7% increase to their UN member dues.
2. This money will aid the building of all-girl schools; buy curriculum materials, and salaries of educators.
3.
The money will be distributed to areas of Nepal with the
lowest women’s literacy rate.
75[BC2] %
of the funds will go to Nepal and the other 25% will go to other countries with
low literacy rates.
4.
The name of the program will be United Nations Women’s
Education Program (U.N.W.E.P.).
5. If U.N.W.E.P. is successful in Nepal, after five years the program will start in the ten countries with lowest women’s literacy rate.
6. This program will continue for 15 years, at the end of ten years the General Assembly will discuss the renewal of the program. This timeframe is necessary to complete the education of the women in question.
[BC1]Both numbers were changed from 10,000 and 6.5 to 12,000 and 7.
[BC2]Was amended to split the money and help other countries.

Whereas Article 16 section
1 of the
UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS
states, “Men and women of full age, without any limitation due to race,
nationality or religion, have the right to marry and found a family. They are
entitled to equal rights as to marriage, during marriage, and at its dissolution.”,
and
Whereas Article 16 section
2 of the
UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS
states, “Marriage shall be entered into only with the free and full
consent of the intending spouses.”,
and
Whereas Article 25, section
1 of the
UNIVERSAL
DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS
states, “Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the
health and well-being of himself and his family, including food, clothing,
housing, and medical care, and necessary social services, and the right to
security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age,
or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.”,
and
Whereas Article 25, section

states, “Motherhood
and childhood are entitled to special care and assistance. All children, whether
born or in out of wedlock, shall enjoy the same social protection.”,

Recall
that in the article, it states that any Malawian girl, ages 15 to 18, is legally
able to get married with a parent's consent, and
Keeping
in mind, Beatrice Kitamula, 19, was forced to marry her wealthy neighbor because
her father owed another man a cow, and
Concerned
that according to studies, the average age of marriage is among the world's
lowest, while the percent of adolescent mothers is among the highest, an
Alarmed
that schooling has to be cut short for many young girls due to early pregnancies
and hazardous births, and
Fully aware that households that can no longer fend themselves opt to sell off their children to wealthier men,
Be It Hereby Resolved That The General
Assembly:
1. Request that the ten wealthiest U.N. member nations raise their U.N. member dues by .5%. (Luxembourg, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, Ireland, Denmark, Qatar, United States, Sweden, and Netherlands.)
2. This money is to be forwarded to the purchase of tractors, seeds, and improved tools.
3. The money will be distributed to Malawi to reduce the famine in this country.
4. The name of this program will be United Nations Family Famine Initiative.
5. If U.N.F.F.I. is successful in Malawi after a year, we will extend the program to other countries such as Tanzania.
6. This program will be authorized for 6 years. At the end of the third year, the General assembly will discuss the renewal of this program.
