Trying to teach for a change....

Fall Workshop #2

Monday, November 3, 1997

4:00 PM – hopefully no later than 5:00 PM

  1. Bill Ramsey from the Human Rights Action Service will talk about human rights issues as they apply to middle school students. He’ll place particular focus on issues involving holiday gift items made overseas which are made with slave labor or in "sweatshops". Bill will have information on how students can get involved now!
  1. Finalizing which schools will be participating in each of our six sessions (March 11, March 18, March 25, April 1, April 8, April 15).
  2. Dividing into groups for each session date and "drafting" the countries to be represented by each school.
  3. Setting up school visits (we only have six of them scheduled as of now). For the most part, Mondays and Wednesdays are the best days. If you want to schedule one or several times, check with Arthur at the beginning or end of the meeting.
