for
8th Grade Model U.N. Teachers
6 October 2000
Dear
Teachers,
We
would like to thank all those teachers who came to our first meeting of the Junior
Gateway Model United Nations. We
covered most of the preliminary work for the year.
Our next task will be to have the “country draft” on Monday,
November 6, also at the U.N.A. headquarters at 121 So. Meramec (10th
Floor) in Clayton.
There
are two essential pieces of information that we need in order to move ahead
efficiently with the country draft. We
need to know (1) the approximate number of delegates that there will be
from each of our participating schools, and (2) what date(s) work best
for you among our six session dates. If
you check our enclosed form “Student Counts for Gateway Junior Model U.N.,”
you will see the school counts that we already have and many of the preferred
dates of these schools. We have
enclosed with this letter a form for everyone to give us their expected counts
and their preferred date(s). If you
have not previously provided us with this information, please complete the form
and return it to us in our business reply envelope (sorry, it’s not
postage-free).
Also,
we want to move ahead in scheduling class visits with all of our
participating schools. Some schools
have already informed us of their desired dates and it appears that all of these
will work out fine. We need other
schools to complete the enclosed form indicating their desired dates for
class visits so that we can work out our calendars between now and April.
If you have not informed us of your preferred dates, please complete the
form and return it in the enclosed envelope.
We
will send you an update of the information that we have prior to our November 6
meeting. As we said at the top of
this letter, the more information that all schools provide us, the easier
it will be have an efficient country draft.
Should
you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call us at (314) 367-6480 or
E-Mail us at [email protected].
Sincerely
yours,
Arthur
