for
Alabama Model United Nations
5 October 2000
Dear
Teachers and Students going to
Alabama,
We
are moving along in putting together our final roster for the Alabama
Model United Nations. However,
due to the fact that we are all at different schools, it is difficult to get
final commitments. Therefore, we
are writing this letter to get your final answers on going to ALMUN.
Here’s the latest information that we want you to have.
1.
Our one real planning meeting for the trip will be on Saturday,
October 14 at Crossroads School. It
will be in conjunction with our discussion group that day, running from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM.
At that time, we will make final arrangements on countries represented
and committee assignments.
2.
Full payment for the trip will be due at the October 14 meeting.
As we stated previously, Civitas has never turned away a student from a
trip for lack of money, but we need you to pay us at that time the $250.00
fee or the portion that you are able to afford.
If you need to speak with us about that, please call us at (314) 367-6480
or E-Mail us at [email protected].
3.
As stated previously, we have made arrangements to stay at the Country
Inn and Suites in Tuscaloosa. Since
we have had so many changes in our roster, we will redo our rooming lists
during our Saturday meeting on October 14.
4.
We have also made reservations with Larkin Transportation Services for a
24-passenger mini-bus to travel to and from Tuscaloosa.
We will leave on Wednesday afternoon to get to Tuscaloosa in time.
We will leaving on Wednesday, October 18 from Crossroads School (500
DeBaliviere) at 3:00 PM and returning at midnight on Saturday, October 21.
5.
Once again, the countries we will be representing are Bangladesh,
Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. If
we have over 14 delegates, we will be able to select an additional country.
6.
It is really essential that we hear from you quickly about whether or not
you are going to ALMUN.
Please send in the form that we previously sent you, or call us, or
E-Mail us as soon as possible so that we can finalize our roster.
Call if you have any questions
7.
Thanks for all that you’re doing.
We’re looking forward to hearing from you shortly and seeing you at our
October 14 meeting!
8.
Finally, you will most likely be receiving a letter to all Model U.N. Student
Steering Committee members on Monday.
It will refer to a future mailing on ALMUN.
Actually, this is it – ahead of schedule! Take care!
Sincerely
yours,
Arthur
