Whereas Article 3 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states, “Everyone has the right to life, liberty, and security of person", and
Whereas Article 5 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states, “No one shall be subjected to torture or cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment,” and
Whereas Article 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states, “Everyone has the right to a standard of living, adequate health and well being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing, and medical care and necessary social services,” and
Alarmed that two and a half million Congolese civilians have been killed and 1.3 million have been displaced, and
Noting that Uganda and Rwanda are attacking and stealing minerals that are vital to the Congolese people’s survival, and
Recognizing that the Democratic Republic of Congo is rich in coltan, which is a substance used in electronics and that rebel troops are stealing these riches and selling them to other countries and to companies like Nokia and Sony to finance their killing and repression of the Congolese people,
Be It Hereby Resolved That the General Assembly:
1. Approve the training of 500 soldiers from each United Nations member country to provide for an armed military force to end this war.
2. Boycott all products that use the rebels stolen materials.
3. Place a 0.45% tax on all electronics.

Whereas Article 25, section 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states, “Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and his family, including food clothing, housing medical care, and necessary Social Services, and the right to security in the vent of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age, or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control,” and
Noting the literacy rate in Japan and the United Kingdom is 99% for both countries and the GDP per capita in Japan is $24,900 and in the United Kingdom it is $22,800, and
Alarmed that Haiti has a GDP per capita of $1,340 and the literacy rate is 53% and the literacy rate in Pakistan is 34.8% and the GDP per capita is $408 (1993).

Whereas Article 25, section 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states, “Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and his family, including food clothing, housing medical care, and necessary Social Services, and the right to security in the vent of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age, or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control,” and
Whereas Article 22 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states, “Everyone as a member of society has the right to social security and is entitled to realization, through nation effort and international cooperation and in accordance with the organization and resources of each State, of the economic, social and cultural rights indispensable for his dignity and the free development of his personality,” and
Concerned about the fact that Afghanistan is responsible for more than 80% of the world’s poppy crops, and that this economy has been exported to Uzbekistan, and
Alarmed by the fact that drug trade in Uzbekistan has causes a staple food, bread, to raise in price as much as 20 times the original because farmers have stopped planting wheat and have replaced with a more profitable crop, poppy, and
Noting that Uzbekistan closed the Friendship Bridge to limit the drug trades between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, and
Recalling that Uzbekistan recently reopened the Friendship Bridge for humanitarian reasons, and
Apprehensive about increased drug traffic because of this humanitarian action.
Be It Hereby Resolved That the General Assembly:
i. The subsidy will pay the difference in profit between poppies and non-drug crops.
ii. The subsidy will gradually be reduced over a ten-year period.

Whereas Article 27,section 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states, “Everyone has the right freely to participate in the cultural life of the community, to enjoy the arts and to share in a scientific advancement and its benefits,” and
Whereas: Medical care in third world countries or lack thereof is mainly responsible for low birth and life expectancy rates, and
Whereas: Medical care is needed to help people in third world countries
because of death caused by treatable illnesses, and lack of proper medicine.
