I am reaching out to you to give you information about an organization that I am involved in because of recent events facing our nation. In response to the Parkland shooting, a group chat formed of many high schoolers from around the St. Louis area. From that, a smaller group formed and started Students Demand Action STL, which is 100% student-led and organizing a walkout and rally to correspond with the National School Walkout. This is the next action after the March for Our Lives, and we are demanding action against gun violence on the 19th anniversary of the Columbine High School shooting by walking out of schools (or workplaces, houses, etc.) at 10 AM and rallying outside of our attorney general’s office, Josh Hawley, who also has ties to the NRA. We will gather around 11 AM, and the protest will be from 12 PM to 2 PM. The address is 815 Olive Street, Suite 200 St. Louis, MO 63101. There will be student speakers, and elected officials will be present. Also, there has already been news press on this event and our group, including from Washington Post and Teen Vogue.
