Whereas Sustainable Development Goal #1 is No Poverty, and

Whereas Sustainable Development Goal #4 is Quality Education, and

Whereas Sustainable Development Goal #8 is Decent Work and Economic Growth, and

Whereas Article 3 of the UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS states, “Everyone has the right to life, liberty, and security of person.”, and

Whereas Article 25, section 1 of the UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS states, “Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and his family, including food, clothing, housing, and medical care, and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age, or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.”, and

Whereas Article 26, section 1 of the UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS states, “Everyone has the right to education. Education shall be free, at least in the elementary and fundamental stages. Elementary education shall be compulsory. Technical and professional education shall be made generally available and higher education shall be equally accessible to all on the basis of merit.”, and

Whereas Article 26, section 2 of the UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS states, “Education shall be directed to the full development of the human personality and to the strengthening of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. It shall promote understanding, tolerance, and friendship among all nations, racial or religious groups, and shall further the activities of the United nations for the maintenance of peace.”, and

Appalled that 83% of children in rural areas in Bangladesh are involved in child labor, and

Shocked that 4.3% of children ages 5 to 14 are engaged in exploitative labor in Bangladesh, and

Dismayed that children in Bangladesh that are involved in child labor work an average of 64 hours per week, and

Realizing that on average, children earn less than $2 a day, and

Be It Hereby Resolved That The General Assembly:

  1. The United Nations will begin a program called “Stop Work Start School” (SWSS) which will focus in Bangladesh. (The nation with the largest number of child work forces.)
  1. SWSS will work with the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education in Bangladesh, which is responsible for implementing policy for primary education and state-funded schools at a local level.
  1. SWSS will establish partnerships between the schools in Bangladesh and surrounding local companies to create an internship program that allows students to attend classes part-time, while also getting quality work experience with the ability to get paid for their time.
  1. Students participating in the SWSS program will receive their required education while also being paid more than what they would be getting in a child labor force for their valuable work training.
  1. To create SWSS, we request that the UN raise dues for the 10 nations that pay the highest amount of dues by 1%. This would raise $19,859,835. We would spend
  2. $12 million dollars on the space/new buildings for the schools, and also for new equipment and supplies needed for training. The rest of the funds ($7,859,835) will go towards paying for the teachers and trainers from partnership companies that will instruct and train the students in their field.
  1. Stop Work Start School will last 3 years. If after this time there has been a reduction in child labor by 10% it can be renewed for an additional 5 years and expanded to other schools across Bangladesh.
  1. If after the expansion time of an additional 5 years, there has been a reduction in child labor by 10% in Bangladesh, SWSS can be renewed for an additional 5 years and expanded to Southeast Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa, where child labor rates are also extremely high.

Re.:                             Clean Water in Ethiopia
Submitted to:            General Assembly
Submitted by:
Date:                           April 26, 2023

Whereas Sustainable Development Goal #3 is Good Health and Well-Being, and

Whereas Sustainable Development Goal #6 is Clean Water and Sanitation, and

Whereas Article 25, section 1 of the UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS states, “Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and his family, including food, clothing, housing, and medical care, and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age, or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.”, and

Alarmed by 60% of Ethiopia’s population not having access to clean water, and

Aware of the water crisis in Ethiopia having 61 million people harmfully affected by it, and

Knowing that Israel has good clean water because of their filtration system, and

Concerned by the sickness Ethiopians are exposed to because of dirty water. (A child dies every hour because of disease),

Be It Hereby Resolved That The General Assembly:

  1. Action Plan:
  • Have Mekorot begin to support other countries other then just Israel, helping to create their own water filtration companies (For Ethiopia it would be called “Maddoonni” sources in Oromo) (Merkorot being the company that made Israels filtration system.)
  • Build a filtration system for Ethiopia, making underground tubes to access the gulf. Israel sending over both workers and teachers to help build and teach Ethopians to be able to build if they want to expand more (Also an opening for jobs because of its unemployment rates)
  1. Funding
  • $156 million dollars (Home filtrations systems * population / homes)

Ask the US government for $70 million dollars  (rich and an ally)

If the US declines, we will start a fundraiser and Israel will pay for more of it (As much they can)

  • Ask Switzerland for donation of $56 million dollars(clean water, rich and an ally)
  • Israel paying for the rest of it ($30 million dollars)
  1. Timeline
  • Three years
  1. Evaluation
  • The death by dehydration and water disease will go down by 51 million people (10%)
  • Can reach out to Somalia to give the filtrations system to as well (beside Ethiopia)

Re.:                             Garbage Vortex in the Pacific
Submitted to:            General Assembly
Submitted by:            Mexico, Bulgaria
Date:                           April 26, 2023

Whereas Sustainable Development Goal #6 is Clean Water and Sanitation, and

Whereas Sustainable Development Goal #12 is Responsible Consumption and Growth, and

Whereas Sustainable Development Goal #14 is Life Below Water, and

Appalled that humans eat an average of 5 grams of microplastics a week, and

Dismayed that 80% of plastics are estimated to come from land-based sources, with the other 20% coming from boats and other marine sources, and

Disconcerted that the garbage vortex is almost 3 times the size of Texas. Texas is 268,596 square miles, and

Horrified that marine debris can disturb marine food webs as microplastics and other trash collect on or near the surface of the ocean, and block sunlight from reaching plankton and algae below,

Be It Hereby Resolved That The General Assembly:

  1. The United Nations will begin a program named GPCU (Garbage Patch Clean Up) and will begin focusing on the Eastern Garbage Patch off the west coast of the United States.
  2. If we see improvement here, we would expand the program to the Western Garbage Patch off the east coast of Japan.
  1. Our plan is to buy 100 interceptor boats in order to begin the clean up process of the garbage patch. We will partner with The Ocean Cleanup, a non-profit foundation that is developing and scaling technologies to rid the oceans of plastic.
  1. The interceptor boats will intercept the trash and filter it into the boat to remove it from the ocean water. The boat then transfers the trash to transportation boats in order to remove the trash from the ocean and bring it back to land to be incinerated. The interceptor boats run 24/7.
  1. To create GPCU, we request that the UN raise dues for the top ten richest countries in the UN by 5%. This would raise close to $100 million dollars. We would spend $77 million dollars to purchase the boats, and the remaining $23 million dollars would be spent on the labor costs to maintain and run the boats.
  1. The Garbage Patch Clean Up will last 3 years. If after this time there has been a reduction in trash that equals the size of 80,000 square kilometers, GPCU can be renewed for an additional 5 years and more boats can be purchased.

Re.:                             Education in Australia
Submitted to:            General Assembly
Submitted by:
Date:                           April 26, 2023

Whereas Sustainable Development Goal #4 is Quality Education, and

Whereas Article 26, section 1 of the UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS states, “Everyone has the right to education. Education shall be free, at least in the elementary and fundamental stages. Elementary education shall be compulsory. Technical and professional education shall be made generally available and higher education shall be equally accessible to all on the basis of merit.”, and

Alarmed by how 40% of Australian kids’ performance is declining because of the lack of learning and outdated curriculum, and

Aware of government law. The rights and responsibilities of organizations in order for them to receive Australian Government funding for school education, and

Knowing that 40.7% kids can’t even make it to college because they will most likely drop out due to stress, and

Concerned that the lack of student performance will affect 50% of the Australian economy,

Be It Hereby Resolved That The General Assembly:

  1. Action Plan:
  • Connect with schools with the same learning deficiencies worldwide through a government approved app so the government worldwide can also come in on the convo in solving this problem.
  • Hire fun and educated teachers from around the world by connecting with other schools and state governments.
  1. Funding:
  • Since most schools are short on staff it will cost $2 million dollars plus an extra $500,000 for production of site. Total is $2,500,000.
  1. Timeline:
  • 20 years. 2 to 3 years for app production. The 17 years left will get us to connect and fix the problem.
  1. Evaluation:
  • There will be monthly visits to school to see if more than 50% of kids are doing good.

After a span of 18 years will be one final visit to see if it was a success. If not we keep going with this program for a few more years.

Re.:                             Human Trafficking in Pakistan
Submitted to:            General Assembly
Submitted by:            Cuba, the United Kingdom
Date:                           April 26, 2023

Whereas Sustainable Development Goal #3 is Good Health and Well-Being, and

Whereas Sustainable Development Goal #8 is Decent Work and Economic Growth, and

Whereas Sustainable Development Goal #16 is Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, and

Whereas Article 3 of the UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS states, “Everyone has the right to life, liberty, and security of person.”, and

Whereas Article 5 of the UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS states, “No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.”, and

Concerned that human trafficking involves buying, selling, renting, and kidnapping children for forced labor in begging, domestic work, work in small shops, and child sex trafficking, and

Appalled that Pakistan is the third largest country for human trafficking, even though it’s the 6th most populous country in the world (excluding the EU), and

Shocked that 20% of people who are trafficked are children, and

Dismayed that about 300,000 people are trafficked in Pakistan each year,

Be It Hereby Resolved That The General Assembly:

  1. The United Nations will begin a program called “Saving Humans From Trafficking” (SHFT) which will focus on Pakistan. (The nation with the third largest number of trafficking victims.)
  1. SHFT will open three secure, live-in shelters for trafficking targets and survivors. These shelters will have therapy for up to 200 victims and people who are at risk of being trafficked, food, water, protection, self protection classes, and hygiene products.
  1. SHFT will establish a tip line number for credible tips made by the public that lead to the dismantling of trafficking operations. The tip line number will be an emergency line that anyone can call, at any time, from any location. When a credible tip line call is made, the whistleblower will receive a monetary reward.
  1. To create SHFT, we request that the UN raise dues for the 10 nations that pay the highest amount of dues by 2.2%. This would raise $43,691,817.
  1. This program will last 5 years.
  1. After five years, if human trafficking rates decrease by 10-20% or more, we will spread SHFT to the other countries with the most human trafficking, most likely India and China.
