Intern Curated TED Talks - CIVITAS-STL

One of the tasks our summer interns have been assigned is to find a TED talk to share with Civitas. We’re not just watching interesting videos though! The students are expected to come up with a presentation, 5-10 questions, and lead a discussion on the TED talk. We left the topics open to see what people would come up with. Here’s what’s been shared so far!

Gabe (SLUH/St. Olaf’s) provided this TED talk on city flag designs:

Claire (McKinley High School) shared this TED talk on climate change & action:

Katie (Lafayette High School) selected this TED talk about a former child soldier who is now a musician:

Daria (Lindbergh High School) presented this TED talk on environmental preservation from Bhutan:

Sophie (Boston College) shared this TED talk on how theater and democracy intersect.

Maggie (College of the Holy Cross) presented this TED talk from a Parkland Teacher about gun violence.

Riley (Francis Howell) gave us a good laugh with the TED talk on classic myths about child safety.

Claire (University of Chicago) brought this TED talk about zip codes in St. Louis and disparity.

Reece (Truman) shared a TED talk on emotional correctness that led to an excellent conversation.
