Money in Politics presentation - CIVITAS-STL

The 2016 election is expected to be the most expensive election held in the U.S. ever. Early estimates are saying that presidential candidates will spend around $2 billion each.

  • Where does that money come from?
  • What does it buy?
  • Is there a downside to having such
    expensive elections?
  • Why is transparency important to
    democracy?

On November 12, join Civitas and OpenSecrets.org for a presentation about money in politics and the importance of government transparency. The presentation will run about an hour long and will have a Q&A session.

The event will be at Nerinx Hall (click here for a map) from 7-8 pm. The presentation is free and open to all interested students, teachers, and parents.
