Short film & Issues Roundtable April 4

Join Civitas for a short documentary and Issues Roundtable, this Saturday, April 4. The event will be at the Civitas office (map) from 9-11 AM. We are still picking out what movies will be of most interest to students.

The 3 short movies students can vote on are:

Separate and Unequal: A look at how segregation is coming back to schools in Louisiana 60 years after the Supreme Court banned it.

Frontline: Secret State of North Korea – Using undercover footage, FRONTLINE explores life under Kim Jong Un.

Tar Creek – The story of the worst environmental disaster you’ve never heard of: the Tar Creek Superfund site. Now, almost 30 years after being designated for federal cleanup by the Superfund program, Tar Creek residents are still fighting for decontamination, environmental justice, and ultimately, the buyout and relocation of their homes to safer ground.
