Important Model UN Info for Students & Teachers

The High School Model UN Country draft will be Saturday, October 5th. Before the draft happens, we will need a head count of how many schools/delegations will be participating. (If we have a lot of interested students, we will be hosting 4 sessions. The first two sessions will be November 23 and the last two will be December 7.)

The first thing that we need teachers and students at each school to do is to check in with one another and decide on the preferred date and time for your school’s primary Model U.N. Session. Below are your choices. Once you have that, please indicate your preference and email [email protected].

_____       Saturday, November 23; 8:30 – 11:30 AM (Session ‘A’)

_____       Saturday, November 23; 1:00 – 4:00 PM (Session ‘B’)

_____       Saturday, December 7; 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM (Session ‘C’)

_____       Saturday, December 7; 1:00 – 4:00 PM (Session ‘D’)

Students, if there is not a Model UN group at your school, you may sign up individually, but be certain to indicate the session that you want to attend. We will need you to come to the Oct. 5 country draft.

The maximum number of students that a school can send to a session is fifteen. If your school would like to have more than fifteen students participate, contact Civitas at [email protected] or (314) 367-6480.

We ask that you submit your preference by Friday, September 27th.

  • The country draft will be held at the Creve Coeur Drury Inn from 9-11 am. We will have a special guest speaker, Carlos Suarez, who is the President of the local United Nations Association Chapter. Students and teachers can register for the Country Draft by clicking here
  • A list of all UN Member Nations can be found here.
  • Students will pick which nations they are to represent for the Model UN sessions, receive a delegate handbook, and learn about the UN.
